Quintile

A quintile occurs when two planets are 72 degrees apart — exactly one-fifth of the zodiac circle. It is the foundational aspect of the fifth-harmonic series and is traditionally associated with creativity, specialized talent, and the capacity to produce something distinctive. The orb is tight, typically 2 degrees. Quintiles between personal planets (Sun-Mars, Venus-Mercury, etc.) often appear in the charts of artists, performers, and people whose work bears an unmistakable signature. Quintiles aren't widely used in mainstream Western astrology — they require deliberate attention to spot — but evolutionary and psychological astrologers who work with harmonics consider them important pointers to where a person's specific gift lives.
