House
6th house
The 6th house rules daily work, health, routine, and service — the small repeated actions that build a competent life.
The 6th house rules the unglamorous infrastructure of a working life: daily routine, the work you do (as opposed to the career you build — that's the 10th), your health practices, your relationship to service, your employees (if you have them), and your pets. The sign on the 6th-house cusp and any planets there describe your style of doing the daily work. Virgo in the 6th-house is the natural placement; Saturn in the 6th often produces someone whose health requires sustained discipline; Mars in the 6th can produce both physical stamina and the susceptibility to overwork-driven inflammation. The 6th is distinct from the 10th (career, public visibility) — the 6th is the daily mechanism, the 10th is the larger vocation. In medical astrology it rules the digestive system and intestines.
