Calculation accuracy
Useful uncertainty is better than a guessed Ascendant
The Sun and slower planets usually remain in the same signs throughout a day, and most planet-to-planet aspects remain readable. The Moon moves quickly enough that its sign or exact aspects can be uncertain near a same-day sign change.
The Ascendant and house cusps rotate through the zodiac during the day, so they cannot be recovered honestly from a date alone. The chart below leaves them out. If you later find a recorded time, you can save the details and add it to generate the complete wheel.

Planetary degrees
Noon-reference degrees are useful approximations, with the largest possible movement belonging to the Moon.
Natal aspects
Most planet-to-planet angles remain informative, while tight Moon aspects deserve a wider uncertainty margin.
Not houses or Rising
The Ascendant, Midheaven, house cusps, and house placements require a real clock time and are intentionally omitted.

Can I calculate my birth chart without a birth time?
Yes. You can calculate planetary signs, approximate degrees, and most planet-to-planet aspects from the date and place. You cannot calculate a reliable rising sign or houses.
Should I use noon or midnight for an unknown time?
Noon is a practical midpoint for displaying planetary positions, but it is not a claim about when you were born. Time-dependent angles and houses should still be suppressed.
Is my Moon sign accurate without a birth time?
Often, but not always. The Moon changes sign roughly every two and a half days, so a date on which it crossed a sign boundary can produce two possible Moon signs.
Can a website find my rising sign from my personality?
A personality quiz can suggest a resemblance, but it cannot calculate an Ascendant. The rising sign is an astronomical angle determined by the exact time and place.
How can I find my recorded birth time?
Check a birth certificate, hospital record, baby book, family archive, or ask someone present. Astrological rectification is interpretive and should not be presented with the certainty of a documented time.
