11th house

The 11th house rules everything social-but-not-intimate: friends (as distinct from partners), the groups and communities you belong to, professional networks, alliances, and — crucially — the hopes, wishes, and longer-term futures you orient toward. The sign on the 11th-house cusp and any planets there describe how you operate in groups and what kinds of futures attract you. Uranus in the 11th tends to produce someone whose group affiliations are unusual or whose vision of the future is consciously different from the surrounding culture.
